Less Than Gravity, ch.1 -- WERS 1988, Moving Targets

so...... i'm not sure how or why this blog has come to be, but it has, so lets just go with it.

in googling to make sure the name hadnt been used already, i came across the sad news that drummer uber-extraordinaire Pat Brady had passed.  i cannot even begin to communicate how much his playing has meant to me over the years, a lot of years, and not a soul will ever come close to his skills and mastery of the instrument.  he will be very missed.

Pat was, among other things, long-time drummer for Moving Targets, of Taang-pressed vinyl fame, and uncountable sweat-soaked t-shirts.  theres more to their/his story than that, but if you've read this far, chances are you already know the pertinent details.

with this in mind, my first post here will bring to you a selection of Moving Targets songs, cullled from the legendary 1988 WERS broadcast, and featuring a rare version of a 4-member Moving Targets lineup (ken chambers & chuck freeman on guitar, pat brady - drums, pat leonard - bass).

songs are:

always calling
this world
falling
squares and circles
selfish

this stuff was pulled from a cassette comp
made for me (by another long-time Targets
fanatic), to cd, and then mp3'd @320kbps.
by using sharebee as a host, files can be
downloaded from Rapidshare, Megaupload,
Z-share, Depositfiles, and Badongo.

theres more of this sorta stuff available if anybody cares for it, but god-dammit, you know you should.
